Description

Pomník Antonína Švehly. Péčí agrárních organizací mělo být v září r. 1938 k dvacátému jubileu Československé republiky slavnostně odhalena socha Antonína Švehly autora Aloise Bučánka. Poctu jednomu ze zakladatelů státu však překazily dramatické zářijové předmnichovské dny. Odhalení pomníku se obešlo bez oslav. Z rozhodnutí německých okupantů byla bronzová socha v r. 1942 odstraněna. Válku přečkala, ale na podstavec před VÚB se za změněné politické nálady již nevrátila a v padesátých letech skončila pravděpodobně ve slévárně.

Na připomínku této významné osobnosti, byla v roce 2009 instalována na původní podstavec alespoň kamenná Švehlova busta od Libora Šimona. Ulice Chotěbořská. Havlíčkův Brod. Kraj Vysočina. Czech Republik.
