Summary
[edit]DescriptionUllapool Gruinard Island and across Gruinard Bay geograph-3192473-by-Ben-Brooksbank.jpg |
English: NE to Gruinard Island and across Gruinard Bay to Coigach Mountains above Loch Broom and Ullapool, 1957. A scene, for once in magnificently fine weather. Right to left: Stattic Point, Cailleach Head, Loch Broom, Ben More Coigach (saddle-mountain with Beinn nan Caorach, about 2,600 ft.), Achiltibuie village, An t-Sàil (1,603 ft), Inverpolly Forest mountains (Cùl Mòr (2,786 ft furthest), Cùl Beag (2,536 ft) and An Stac (2,009 ft); nearer on the left is the grim Gruinard Island - still, in 1957, very much forbidden-access from wartime anthrax cultivation. |
