- "Crew members from the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Henry Blake work a bouy during exercise Pacific Unity 2009. The event is a coordinated North Pacific Coast Guard Forum exercise that is focused on demonstrating the abilities of partner nations to provide maritime assistance during a simulated disaster occuring in the Pacific Northwest. Canada, Japan, Russia, and the United States are sending ships to take part in the event, while two members of the forum, China and South Korea, will participate as observers. The partner nations will be coordinating simulated search and rescue, aids to navigation, law enforcement and security operations during the three day event. The crews will also particpate in social and cultural events aimed at fostering camaraderie."
