Description On May 7, U.S. Consul General Zachary Harkenrider joined Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, Chairman National Disaster Management Authority Maj. Gen Asghar Nawaz, Country Director WFP Lola Castro at the hand-over ceremony of a Humanitarian Response Facility to the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority. The $3 million state-of-the-art facility has been established by the World Food Program with contribution from USAID, Japan, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, and Denmark. The facility is among 8 being established around the country to augment the emergency and disaster response capacity of the government and the international humanitarian community in Pakistan.
