Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Tilt’s Baby Geyser consists of a pair of small, elongated vents located about 8 to 9 meters south of Crested Pool’s southern border in the Castle Group of Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin. Before 2016, the geyser was located immediately adjacent to the tourist boardwalk and could be easily viewed from above. In 2016, the boardwalk was moved away from the feature. This geyser erupts every ~3.5 to ~6.5 hours. About an hour before an eruption, the water-filled and overflowing basin engages in occasional, very slight pulsing. As an eruption nears, heavier and more frequent pulsing occurs. Eruptions start with very heavy pulsing and energetic roiling, with bursting splashes from both vents starting up soon afterward. Eruptions last for about 4 to 6 minutes. The northwestern vent is the more energetic of the two. After an eruption, the basin is empty of water. About an hour-and-a-half after an eruption, the basin slowly fills with water, and eventually starts overflowing.
