English: The old YMCA The old YMCA hostel stood in the now-vanished Alexandra Street, behind the General Post Office. It is here seen in forlorn isolation after the surrounding buildings were flattened to make way for the Lion Yard shopping development. To the left, across the cleared space, can be seen part of Christ's College, and above looms the tower of Ambrose Pointer's church of St Andrew the Great. |
