The first storey building in Nigeria was erected by Reverend Henry Townsend of the Church Missionary Society (CMS). The first storey building in Nigeria was built between 1842 and 1845. It was recorded as the mission lodge from outside Nigeria and as an office for the missionaries , it contain six big rooms, four stores, two big sitting rooms, and a safe where precious items are kept e.g The first English Bible and The first Bible in Nigeria , writing material and papers , The building still use as church sometimes , Is one of the historical place in Nigeria as it contain the record and memory or the great missionary Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther the translator of Yoruba Bible from English in the year 1845 which gave the local dialect access to the Holy Bible which he name as Bibeli Mimo The building also contain the historical well name Miracle well which was dug in the 1842 as still existing up to today, the well serve as main water for the building of the first storey building and its was recorded as healing water that cure lots of illness since then to present day
