English: It is a large stone with a hole in the middle, where people can insert their fingers and make a wish. The sculpture was created by Romas Vilčiauskas, a Lithuanian artist, and installed in 2002. It is one of the many artistic attractions of Užupio, which is a self-proclaimed republic with its own constitution, flag, and anthem¹. Some people believe that the wish stone has magical powers and can grant any wish, while others see it as a symbol of creativity and freedom. The wish stone is also known as the angel's finger or the finger of God². It is often decorated with flowers, candles, or ribbons by the visitors.
