Description
English: The Bricks was the first settlement in Christchurch (New Zealand) on the southern bank of the Avon River. The inserts show the First Four Ships that landed the colonists in 1850. This lithograph in the Christchurch Press was based on the watercolour painted by resident John Durey in 1851.
