Summary
[edit]DescriptionTerrestrial shrew remains examined in Nepenthes attenboroughii by Dr Alastair S Robinson.webm |
English: Botanist Alastair Robinson examines the pitcher contents of Nepenthes attenboroughii, a giant pitcher plant species from the island of Palawan, in the Philippines. The remains of a newly killed terrestrial shrew were identified in a pitcher of this species during an expedition to its habitat in October 2012; a return visit in December of the same year demonstrates that digestion of the trapped vertebrate has proceeded apace.
