EN EXTRÊME-ORIENT NOVEMBRE / DÉCEMBRE 1944 : Le capitaine de Frégate Jaubert est chargé de la création, du recrutement et de la formation d'une brigade de fusilliers marins en vue de combattre les Japonais. La Brigade Légère Marine d'Extrême-Orient (BLMEO) est créée le 16 décembre 1944 à Arcachon comprenant 3 300 hommes. Elle deviendra ultérieurement la BMEO.
