Deutsch: Nach der Beendigung des Abbaus und der Renaturierungsmaßnahmen wurde der Steinbruch aus der Bergaufsicht entlassen und die räumlich und zeitlich begrenzten Ausnahmeregelungen aufgehoben. Er liegt vollständig im Naturschutzgebiet „Klosterholz und Nordmannssteine.
Mit der endgültigen Unterschutzstellung des Naturschutzgebiets im Mai 1995 sollte das typische Vegetationsmosaik auf Muschelkalk geschützt werden. Das reiche Arteninventar der Wald-und Felsbiotope macht den Bereich an der Werra zu einem schützenswerten Naturraum. Das Naturschutzgebiet umfasst eine Fläche von 119,2 Hektar, hat den WDPA-Code 164450 und die thüringeninterne Nummer 024. Es ist eines von drei Teilgebieten des Flora-Fauna-Habitat-Gebiets „Creuzburger Werratal-Hänge“, mit der thüringischen Kennung 35, der europäischen Gebietsnummer 4927-303 und dem WDPA-Code 555520295. Das Schutzgebiet liegt rechts der Werra, zwischen den Gemeinden Creuzburg und Mihla, im Nordwesten des thüringischen Wartburgkreises. |
