Summary
[edit]DescriptionSt Michael's church - view west - geograph.org.uk - 1361068.jpg |
English: St Michael's church - view west. St Michael's church > 1361039 - 1361044 has a round tower with triangular-headed windows characteristic of Saxon architecture. In the early 14th century the south aisle > 1361060 was added and the porch > 1361084 dates from the 15th century. Restoration work was carried out in the late 19th century, when the vestry was added and the original east window was replaced by the present one, made in the workshop of Kings of Norwich > 1361051. The church still houses the original C15 octagonal font > 1361071 and the otherwise ordinary pulpit is decorated with a piece of Flemish carving > 1361055 which is believed to date from the 16th century. This church is open every day. |
