Summary
[edit]DescriptionSouthern Pacific locomotive 4000.jpg | Postcard photo of what was once the largest locomotive in the world, owned by Southern Pacific. The SP number is 4000-this is a Baldwin, as their round plate can be seen on the locomotive's left side. This is the MC-1 before it was converted to cab forward in the early 1920s. |
Date | Not mailed and no other dating. SP received the locomotive in 1909 and by the early 1920s it had been altered to become a cab forward locomotive. Believe this is circa 1909-1910. |
