Title
Single view of a Post Medieval asymmetrical double looped buckle.
Description
English: The Post Medieval buckle is made from cast copper alloy. In plan the frame is asymmetrical with one rectangular shaped loop and the one semi-circular shaped loop. The strap bar is narrowed and broken in the centre, forming a small gap. This break is not recent. The edges of the frame are bevelled on the exterior and interior edges.

The pin is cast from copper alloy. It is an elongated triangular shape in plan, which tapers to a sharp point. The other terminal is curled around the strap bar.

In length of the frame is 23.6mm and 17mm wide. It weighs 1.96g.

The pin and frame have a patchy mid green patina,

Whitehead dates this type of buckle to the late 16th to 17th centuries. No. 564 is similar to the recorded example.
