Description As with most raptors, the female bald eagle is larger than the male. The female is 25% larger with an average weight of 12lb versus the average male weight of 9lb. This photo was taken in Alaska where the bald eagles are larger than those in other states with average weights of 14lb and 9.5lb respectively.
