Description |
English: Second Class Smoking Room on the 'Olympic' (1911) Interior of the passenger liner 'Olympic' (1911) showing the Second Class Smoking Room, on the Bridge Deck (B Deck); a view looking across to the port side. The room was decorated in the Neoclassical style; the bar is visible in the far corner. The design of the interiors on the 'Olympic' was mainly the work of Aldam Heaton & Co, a practice founded by John Aldam Heaton (1828-97). Heaton established a partnership with Richard Norman Shaw and was part of William Morris’ circle. He also edited four volumes on 18th-century furniture. |
