This is an historic black and white photograph from the Scotty's Castle Historic Photograph Collection, Death Valley National Park of an elaborate, two-story, Spanish style structure recently constructed. Large arched porch in front. Wood balconies on second floor. Many windows with large beam headers. Second building behind first. Open courtyard between structures attached with an arched wall. Octagon corner room. Square tower opposite corner. Red tile roofing. Construction boards, sawhorses, ladders and more from construction. Tall barren hillsides behind. Number in black ink in lower left corner.

Construction of swimming pool not yet started. Sacks of construction material, large diameter ceramic pipe, construction tools, lumber, tiles located around the building. Scotty’s Original Castle in background. Number in black ink at bottom left refers to historic photograph numbering system: 2502. Black and white, hand tinted, 8 x 14 inch, horizontal format. Reverse not examined. Corner mounted and adhered on photograph album page.
