Summary
[edit]DescriptionRossmore Memorial, Monaghan - geograph.org.uk - 411646.jpg |
English: Rossmore Memorial, Monaghan The Rossmore Memorial was built in 1876 in memory of the 4th Baron Rossmore who died after a hunting accident at Windsor Castle in 1874. Octagonal in shape, the central marble columns support a fountain while around it the eight gray columns support the pinnacled superstructure which rises to a dome surmounted by a spire supported by yet more columns. The letters spelling Rossmore (also 8 in number) are spaced around the structure. |
