English: Recently-erected support structures over Newport railway station. Support structures for overhead electricity wires viewed from platform 2 on August 25th 2018 - part of the infrastructure for the electrification of the South Wales Main Line to Cardiff. Electric trains are scheduled to operate on this route from 2019 - exact start date not yet known. The portals of the Hillfield Tunnels are in the background. |
