Description

Op 5 januari 2018 werd tijdens de viering van Publiek domeindag 2018 aandacht besteed aan de makers die in 1947 overleden zijn en waarvan hun werken die in het publieke domein terecht zijn gekomen.

Auteursrechtelijke bescherming is tijdelijk. In Nederland is de vuistregel dat de duur van deze bescherming afloopt op 1 januari, 70 jaar na de dood van de maker. Werken van deze mensen kunnen nu nieuw leven ingeblazen worden, ze kunnen worden toegevoegd aan Wikipedia, er kunnen overzichtspublicaties geschreven worden, etc.
