| Description |
English: Seen here is a diagram of the posterior part of an anteater. It is observable that the tongue of the anteater is attached directly to the sternum unlike most of the mammals, whose tongues are usually attached to the hyoid bone. Anteaters' tongues, on average, are 2 ft long.
