Summary

Description

Fig. 52

English: A centrifugal throttling governor for steam engines, similar to the well-known Watt governor. In a Pickering governor the multiple linkages of the Watt or Porter governor are replaced by flat springs, thus avoiding the many pin joints and the risk that they will wear and become slack in operation.
