Description |
Maw & Co. was formed in 1850 by the brothers George and Arthur Maw who concentrated on the manufacture of floor tiles, quickly gaining a high reputation for their encaustic ‘Mock-Mediaeval’ tiles. By the 1880s they had become one of the most influential and important tile manufacturers, producing annually over 20 million tiles a year by the end of the nineteenth century |
