João V,entre 1743 e 1750,que tem sido atribuído a Caetano Tomás de Sousa,integra-se num conjunto monumental classificado como Imóvel de Interesse Público (abrange a fachada palaciana, a capela e torre sineira, a fonte localizada em frente da capela, todo o edifício conventual e os respectivos jardins e parque envolvente).Residência real durante mais de um séc.,recebeu a partir de meados do séc. XX o Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros.Trata-se de uma construção barroca,desenvolvida segundo planta muito articulada em torno de 2 pátios quadrangulares,cujo alçado principal,constituído por 3 corpos delimitados por pilastras,surge rasgado por 24 janelas de peito no piso térreo e outras tantas de sacada sobrepujadas de ática no piso nobre.No interior destacam-se as escadarias de acesso ao andar nobre e as sucessivas salas temáticas,decoradas com estuques,pinturas murais,talha,mármores,azulejos,esculturas e telas.Este conjunto integra a Capela de N. S. das Necessidades,anterior ao palácio,de frontaria avançada formando galilé,com torre sineira,cuja fachada,rasgada por uma porta encimada por relevo de mármore figurando a padroeira,exibe estatuária de José de Almeida e Alessandro Giusti,e ainda um edifício conventual da Ordem de S. Filipe Néri,doado aos Padres do Oratório.Jardins e uma tapada de 10 hectares englobam o conjunto edificado.O Palácio integra a classificação como Imóvel de Interesse Público do Conjunto do Palácio das Necessidades, publicada em Decreto n.º 8/83, DR, I Série, n.º 19, de 24-01-1983 <a href="http://www.cm-lisboa.pt/equipamentos/equipamento/info/palacio-das-necessidades" rel="nofollow">www.cm-lisboa.pt/equipamentos/equipamento/info/palacio-da...</a> |
