| Description |
English: K. Kendall: "She lived in a shack next to an ever-shifting sand dune the size of a mountain. I cannot imagine the hard times she had survived, and yet she put those beads on for the picture, and her gaze was steady and grounded in self-respect. I suffered heat stroke on this trip (our water supply got gasoline in it) and lost the paper with her name and details on it.
Taken with a Pentax K1000 in 1994. I developed and printed it in the darkroom at the National University of Lesotho." |
