Français : Cette image montre comment le taux de comptage de l'instrument Alice a changé dans le temps durant les observations du coucher et du lever de soleil. Le taux de comptage est plus important quand la ligne de perception se trouve hors de l'atmosphère, au début et à la fin. L'azote moléculaire (N2) commence à absorber la lumière dans la haute atmosphère de Pluton, réduisant lorsque le vaisseau spatial passe dans l'ombre de la planète. Lorsque l'occultation continue, le méthane et les hydrocarbures atmosphériques peuvent également absorber la lumière du soleil et décroitre le taux de comptage. Quand le vaisseau est entièrement positionné dans l'ombre de PLuton, le taux de comptage passe par zéro. Lorsque le vaisseau spatial progresse vers le lever de soleil, le processus s'inverse. |
