| Description |
English: Mount Charles, Belfast 1 of 4 Mount Charles runs from the University Road to Botanic Avenue. It is not a typical Belfast street although it bears similarities to other streets around Queens University. It dates mostly from the early to mid-Victorian period. No 2 (at the University Road end and partly hidden by the pillars) dates from 1842. It was restored after receiving bomb damage in 1973 and 1974. Next to it, no 4 is from the same date but was almost entirely rebuilt, in 1982, after the bombs. No 2 houses the Royal Society of Ulster Architects http://www.rsua.org.uk/welcome/. The view is towards Botanic Avenue. |
