Description

O Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Cós, também conhecido por Convento de Cós, encontra-se situado em Coz no concelho de Alcobaça, a quatro quilómetros da localidade de Maiorga.

As suas origens remontam ao séc. XII, época em que o Mosteiro de Alcobaça adquire propriedades em Cós. Seria pela mão do Abade de Alcobaça, D. Fernando, que o convento inicial seria construído, destinando-se a acolher as viúvas que queriam levar uma vida religiosa.
