Italiano: Il Monumento a Isabella Ranuzzi è un'opera del 1814 ca. di Giuseppe Muzzarelli, nel Chiostro III della Certosa di Bologna. [1] Il cimitero monumentale fa parte del patrimonio dell'Umanità dei "Portici di Bologna" riconosciuto dall'Unesco.
I monumenti funebri dipinti a tempera e quelli realizzati in stucco e scagliola sono un unicum locale e presentano particolari sfide per la loro preservazione: i restauratori valutano di volta in volta gli interventi di manutenzione, restauro e risanamento conservativo, considerando anche la conservazione della leggibilità artistica. Uno dei problemi tipici degli antichi monumenti del chiostro III è l'“umidità di risalita”, che causa il rigonfiamento ed il distacco dell'intonaco, soprattutto a causa delle problemantiche legate al microclima della Certosa di Bologna e ai materiali igroscopici. Le tombe più celebri e antiche sono state restaurate più volte e con tecniche diverse nel tempo. Per evitare il danneggiamento ulteriore delle fragili pitture e non potendo isolare efficacemente il monumento dall'umidità che risale dal terreno, le malte cementizie impiegate in passato sono state nella gran parte dei casi sostituite nella fascia inferiore da uno "zoccolo" in malta a calce traspirante, destinata ad assorbire l'umidità prima che risalga.[2]English: The 'Monument to Isabella Ranuzzi' made in 1814 ca. by Giuseppe Muzzarelli, is located in the Third Cloister of the Certosa in Bologna. Funerary monuments painted in tempera and those made of stucco and scagliola present special challenges for their preservation: restorers assess maintenance, restoration and conservation work on a case-by-case basis, also considering the preservation of artistic legibility. One of the typical problems of the ancient monuments in the third cloister is 'rising damp', which causes the plaster to swell and detach, in particular relation with the issues of the microclimate of the Certosa di Bologna and hygroscopic materials. The most famous and ancient tombs have been restored several times and with different techniques over time. In order to avoid further damage to the fragile paintings and not being able to effectively isolate the monument from the humidity that rises from the ground, the cement mortars used in the past have in most cases been replaced in the lower layer by a 'plinth' of breathable lime mortar, designed to absorb the humidity before it rises. |
