English: Title: Mending socks for the soldiers. Bureau of refugees, Toure. (See number 7676). Socks that have been knitted by American wives and sisters are made to last as long as possible by the refugee women at Toure who, under the direction of the AMERICAN RED CROSS are employed to mend for the American soldiers. This is part of the great salvage work that is making socks, sweaters, etc. that have been worn, as good as new at a small cost, while at the same time the women are enabled to support themselves
