Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University has been named after one of the renowned political leaders and philosophers of Bangladesh- Mwalana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani.

The university was established in Santosh, Tangil in 1999.

মাওলানা আবদুল হামিদ খান ভাসানী বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় 'মজলুম জননেতা' নামে পরিচিত বাংলাদেশে অন্যতম জনপ্রিয় রাজনীতিবিদ মাওলানা আবদুল হামিদ খান ভাসানী এর নাম অনুসারে নামকরণ করা হয়।

বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টি টাঙ্গাইল জেলার সন্তোষে অবস্থিত এবং এটি প্রতিষ্ঠা করা হয় ১৯৯৯ সালে
