[edit]DescriptionMarines conduct first time combat marksmanship practice aboard USS America 140728-M-HB658-047.jpg |
English: Sergeant Maj. Wesley Schaffer, sergeant major of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South, and a native of Roanoke, Va., engages his target with an M4A1 service rifle aboard the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) during combat marksmanship practice, July 28, 2014. The purpose of the shoot was to refresh the Marines' shooting skills to prepare them for their bi-lateral exchange in Brazil. Bi-lateral exchanges with our partners strengthen the relationships that facilitate the cooperation needed in the event of a crisis requiring a multinational effort. SPMAGTF-South is currently embarked aboard America in support of its maiden transit, "America Visits the Americas." (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Cpl. Donald Holbert/ Released) |
