Nederlands: Aanleg van tuin en vijvers van de voormalige Cokesfabriek in Maastricht. De Cokesfabriek werd in 1912 gebouwd naar een ontwerp van Jan Gerko Wiebenga en behoort, samen met de Wiebengahal, tot de oudste betonnen gebouwen in Maastricht. Het gebouw was oorspronkelijk onderdeel van de Gemeentelijke Gasfabriek, daarna een fabriekshal van Radium Rubber. In 2015 werden diverse aanbouwen gesloopt, onder andere vanwege de Noorderbrugaanlanding, die er vlak langs loopt. Sinds 2019 is het gestripte en in zeer slechte staat verkerende gebouw eigendom van de kunstenaar-ontwerper Valentin Loellmann, die het eigenhandig restaureert en transformeert tot een kunstencentrum. Een deel van de tuin wordt aangelegd op een heuvel van vervuilde aarde (rechts). |
