Summary
[edit]DescriptionM50 embankment - geograph.org.uk - 1586578.jpg |
English: M50 embankment Across a calm Hartleton Water is the embankment of the M50, a motorway which stretches for 21 miles between Strensham and Ross-on-Wye. It was constructed between 1958 and 1962, has four junctions and runs through three counties, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire. It has never been widened from its original two-lanes-each-way design and there are no services along its length. It cost £6,000,000, (peanuts by today's standards) and was the cheapest motorway ever built given that it included 39 bridges, of which two are major structures. |
