| Description |
English: View over the Big Creek Valley from a clearing along the Appalachian Trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, in the southeastern United States. Luftee Knob, a 6,234-ft/1,900m mountain, rises at the center. The spruce-coated slopes of Old Black are visible at the lower right. The darker patches of trees atop Luftee Knob are a stand of spruce-fir forest, while the brown and green areas in the lower elevations are hardwood forest. |
