Description |
English: Cast copper alloy shoe buckle of Post Medieval date, c.1660-1720. The outer edge of the frame is sub-rectangular in shape with rounded corners. The inner of frame is hexagonal having six internal edges. The frame is drilled at the centre of the top and bottom to hold a separate spindle. It is decorated with engraved transverse lines on the outer edge of each loop and around both spindle holes. It measures 21.45mm in length, 15.70mm in width and has a thickness of 3.30mm. The buckle weighs 2.3 grams. |
