DescriptionKnickerbocker glory.jpg |
A knickerbocker glory is an ice cream sundae from the United Kingdom, It was first described in the 1930s and contains ice cream, jelly, and cream. Layers of these different sweet tastes are alternated and topped with different kinds of syrup, nuts, whipped cream and often a cherry. Layers of meringue, fruit and even alcohol may be included but, as with an ice cream sundae, there is no precise recipe. This photo is of Harrod's version. I'm afraid someone has got mixed up here. This photo is definitively NOT of a knickerbocker glory - it is some other sort of, rather yummy, desert. |
