Summary
[edit]DescriptionIfield Green, Inclosure Boundary Stone - geograph.org.uk - 1751968.jpg |
English: Ifield Green: Inclosure Boundary Stone This small boundary stone is the only surviving one from a group that were required to be placed on the village green under the terms of an Inclosure Award made in 1855. The award allowed inhabitants of the Parish of Ifield to use the area for exercise and recreation at all times of the year.
The stone is in the outfield of the cricket pitch and is clearly visible on the satellite imagery of the "Where's the Path" website https://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm The co-ordinates are taken from that imagery. The cricket pavilion is in the background. |
