Summary
[edit]DescriptionGentilly1Dead5000HouseMarkings.jpg |
English: New Orleans, just over 1 year after the Hurricane Katrina levee failures.
House in formerly deeply flooded Gentilly neighborhood, a few blocks from Mirabeau breech of London Avenue Canal, with various search & rescue markings. Red marking towards center shows house was first examined on 11 September (2005, almost 2 weeks after the disaster) by the 82nd unit. "NE" denotes "Not Entered". High position of the mark suggests it may have been done by boat in remaining floodwaters. To right of house, other markings are in white. Partially scrubbed off but still visible shows a second search on 15 September, with one dead body found inside. Larger mark from 17 Sept denotes "Clear", meaning the body was removed. |
