English: Gail MacPherson was the Councillor for Runcorn Ward and Karawatha Wards, Brisbane City Council from March 1994 to June 2012.

Born and educated in Brisbane, Gail MacPherson worked for the Queensland Government in Local Government Services before her election to Council in 1994. She was also a research officer for a Victorian State Member of Parliament. She was elected to represent the new Karawatha ward in 2008 until she retired in 2012, after having represented Runcorn ward since 1994. Gail was on various Brisbane City Council Committees, and was an Executive Member of the Urban Local Government Association from 1994 until 2008. Gail was also a founding member of the BCC Karawatha Forest Management Committee, and Chair of the Committee for a number of years. During her 18 years as a Councillor, Gail made many improvements to the local area, which at the time was still developing, improvements included creation of new parks, installation new play equipment, BBQ's, picnic faacilities, half basket ball courts, BMX tracks, Skateboard facilities, initiated the building of the Kuraby Community Centre in Svobada Park Kuraby, had traffic signals installed at many dangerous intersections, walking trails and picnic areas in Karawatha Forest, plus the Acacia Road entry point and facilities. Many road improvements were carried out. She supported Bushcare groups, in addition to supporting all the local community groups in the Ward. Gail retired as Councillor in 2012 and did not stand for re-election at the 2012 election.

Gail is an active Life Member of the Australian Labor Party.
