Full Genealogy of Jesus with Cross-References & Reconciliation of Differences

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This chart gives the full genealogy of Jesus Christ.

It explains: 1). Why there are differences from David to Salathiel. (This is to fulfill the prophecy that Jeconiah's seed would not continue, but that he would still be in the "line" of Christ. Jeremiah 22:30.) Neri was a "near kinsman" (Ruth 4:10) who raised up the name of the dead upon Jeconiah's inheritance through the line of Nathan (Solomon's older brother through Bathsheba) - [2 Samuel 5:14, 1 Chron. 3:5]. 2). The pattern that Matthew and Luke are both skipping every other generation from Jeconiah / Neri through the grandsons of Zerubbabel: Abiud and Rhesa. This reconciles the differences after Zerubbabel. They are his grandsons. 3). Continuing the skipping of generations, we are safe to assume that Jacob and Heli are both Joseph's grandfathers.

4). Mary very likley shares Heli as grandfather with Joseph. According to Numbers 36, Genesis 24 & Genesis 29; it is presumed that they followed the tradition of the son going to his mother's side of the family to marry a cousin and Mary marrying within her "father's tribe." This would mean this section of the genealogy is redundant between both Joseph and Mary (and Jesus' blood line through Mary's side ... although the seed did not pass down; the line did. Isaiah 9:6-7, Romans 5:12).
