Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Elpidite, Ashcroftine-(Y), Calcite
Locality: Poudrette quarry (Demix quarry; Uni-Mix quarry; Desourdy quarry; Carrière Mont Saint-Hilaire; MSH), Mont Saint-Hilaire, La Vallée-du-Richelieu RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada
Very dark gray/green elpidite xls 5+ mm (not quite all shown). MOB coll. There are plenty of better elpidite photos on Mindat. But many of them show xls with pinacoidal terminations from the Poudrette pegmatite. The xls in this photo may be of interest because they are from igneous breccia, few if any examples of which have been posted, and are associated with very rare ashcroftine-(Y) (acicular pale violet stuff). The greenish yellow stuff is calcite.
Deutsch: Elpidit, Ashcroftin-(Y), Calcit
Fundort: Steinbruch Poudrette, Mont Saint-Hilaire, La Vallée-du-Richelieu RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Kanada
