Summary
[edit]DescriptionEast 40th Street, Goodrich-Kirtland Park, Cleveland, OH (28089159787).jpg |
This interesting brick house is located at the corner of East 40th Street and Payne Avenue in Cleveland's Goodrich-Kirtland Park neighborhood. Constructed in the late 19th Century, the building has witnessed the transformation of the surrounding neighborhood from a primarily residential area to one that is primarily commercial and industrial. The eclectic victorian building has a central gabled bay that features a gothic arch and window, along with several arched window bays topped with ornately carved headers, and a front stoop roof that has ornate Victorian brackets. Today, this charming structure is one of many surviving late 19th Century buildings along this corridor, which offers one of the most interesting glimpses into Cleveland's Victorian past remaining on the east side.
