Description

c/n 3069, l/n DO12 Built in 1941 as a C-54A-DO for the US military with the serial 41-37279. Sold off in 1946 and became NC95441 with Resort Airlines in July that year, probably as a DC-4A. In April 1947 it was registered in Holland as PH-XBY before becoming CS-TSC with Transportes Aéreos Portugueses (TAP). At some point it was transferred to the Portuguese Air Force where it served as ‘6606’, probably designated back as a C-54A again. In external store at Alverca since August 1973, she is allocated to the Museu do Ar and will hopefully be restored for display at some point. Currently she remains relatively complete but a bit rough around the edges! Alverca airfield, Alverca do Ribatejo, Portugal
