Description
English: DIVAN OF FATH 'ALI SHAH (DIVAN-E KHAQAN)

Qajar Iran, 1835-40 AD

Persian manuscript on paper, 170ff. with 15ll. of black nasta'liq in two gold outlined columns, opening folio with finely illuminated heading, four other illuminated headings and with five well executed modern miniatures in the Safavid style, good condition, brown morocco binding with pink tooled medallion and green spandels, brown morocco slip cover Folio 11 x 7in. (28 x 17.5cm.)

This manuscript was commissioned by Prince Qahrman Mirza, the 8th son of Abbas Mirza. He was governor of Azarbayjan from 1251-1255 (1835-40) and the manuscript must have been copied between these two dates.
