Cumbria, nr Kendal: Book Clasp
Description
English: One half of a copper-alloy book clasp with fish tail end and a decoration of punched ring-and-dots. The decoration of the fish tail end is comprised of lines making up crude chevrons. The clasp has 6 rivet holes (five at one end and a single one at the other) with two rivets still in plate. One rivet (the single one at the top) still hold part of the broken back plate in place (can be seen on the reverse of the book clasp).
