THIRD GENERATION—1913- 184 THE CRISIS If you look in our Color Line notesand Opinion you will see the kindof facts we want. Such facts are dif-ficult to gather. The regular news asso-ciations do not publish them, the coloredpapers miss half of them, and de-spite the fact that we spend over $500a year, we do not get as completea picture of colored life in America aswe Mish. Will you help us ? Search yourlocal papers for notes and editorials;note occurrences; let nothing slip. Wemay not be able to write you a letter ofthanks and we may not always use yourmatter, but we shall appreciate the serv-ice just the same. This leads us to saya word in answer to hundreds ofinquiries:. Yes. The Crisis wants contributions;it wants news notes, it wants articles, itwants stories, it wants poems. But The Crisis has a standard. Newsnotes must be news notes and not thinlyconcealed puffs. Articles must bewritten in the kings English and mustsay something. We do not want ram-bling thoughts and opinions;
