English: Visitors from the U.S. Consulate aboard the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) gather at a weapons static display on the flight deck to learn about the 81mm mortar system from Cpl. Nicholas Charles, a gun line noncommissioned officer with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South during at ship tour at Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Aug. 7, 2014. The visitors saw several static displays hosted by Marines showcasing the capabilities that the SPMAGTF brings to the Ship. The Marines with SPMAGTF-South are embarked aboard America on her maiden transit “America Visits the Americas.” The transit aims to demonstrate the capabilities that the Navy-Marine Corps team brings to our nation and partners, and to further the bond between the U.S. and Brazil.
