Transcript InfoField | Kiloran Bay (Traigh Ban). This magnificent bay is some three miles across, and greatly exposed to wind. It is difficult to convey an idea of its size, being a singularly desolate place. To the north lies Benhor, in Mull, while behind the nearer rocky heights is situated the romantic dwelling place and farm of Balnahard, on the extreme north of Colonsay. Among the sand dunes to the right were discovered some years ago the skeleton of a Viking and his horse, with trappings, etc., and perfectly preserved weights and measures of unknown measurements. |
